{"id":243,"date":"2013-04-17T10:16:20","date_gmt":"2013-04-17T08:16:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.my-intranet.com\/?page_id=243"},"modified":"2025-08-08T18:07:35","modified_gmt":"2025-08-08T16:07:35","slug":"types-of-leave","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.my-intranet.com\/en\/types-of-leave\/","title":{"rendered":"Types of leave"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.my-intranet.com\/en\/help\/modules\/leave-management-software\/\">The leave management software<\/a> module allows you to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.my-intranet.com\/en\/online-leave-management\/\">manage all types of employee leave and absence online<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each leave can be managed in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.my-intranet.com\/en\/days-worked-vs-working-days\/\">hours, business days, working days or calendar days<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The usual legal and contractual leave :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">paid leave :<\/span> usually, 25 business days per year in France if calculated in business days or 30 days if calculated in working days. The number of days and the leave period can be configured in the software.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">seniority leave :<\/span> some collective agreements stipulate that the employees&#8217; entitlement to additional leave depends on their company seniority. This leave is credited in the software at the beginning of the paid leave period according to the seniority of the employee during peak periods. The software enables acquisition rules for seniority leave to be configured for each employee category (e.g. for executives, 2 days after 3 years and 5 days after 5 years).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Anticipated leave :<\/span> when an employee joins the company, in theory they can only begin to take paid leave during the period following the first earning period. Firstly, they have to earn paid holiday and reach the end of the acquisition period before being able to take them. The software allows you to set a number of days leave which can be taken before the end of the acquisition period and thus in advance of the leave period.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.my-intranet.com\/en\/time-saving-account-software\/\">Time Saving Account<\/a> :<\/span> in some companies, the employee has the possibility to credit the paid leave and RTT that he could not take during the period of taking them to a time saving account. Then, he can take the days saved on the time saving account later when he wishes. My Intranet HRIS allows defining periods and maximum credit balances of the account for paid leave, RTT and recovery hours.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Recovery time linked to overtime hours :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Recovery :<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.my-intranet.com\/en\/working-time-tracking-software\/\">the software manages working time and overtime<\/a>. The employee can thus take recovery time following overtime hours performed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Family-related leave :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">bereavement leave :<\/span> this type of leave can be taken on the event of the death of a close relative.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">sick child leave :<\/span> this leave can be taken when a sick child has to be taken care of at home.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">childbirth leave :<\/span> this leave can be taken upon birth or adoption of a child.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">marriage leave :<\/span> this leave can be taken when you get married<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">maternity leave :<\/span> this leave can be taken by the mother during part of her pregnancy and after the birth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">paternity leave :<\/span> this leave can be taken by the father when his child is born.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">parental education leave :<\/span> after the birth or adoption of a child under 16, a parent can take leave to bring up their child.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Other types of leave :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">other paid leave :<\/span> covers all types of paid leave, giving access to leave entitlement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">unpaid leave :<\/span> this leave is not remunerated. There is no entitlement to paid leave acquisition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.my-intranet.com\/en\/sick-leave\/\">Sick leave<\/a> :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">covered sick leave :<\/span> remunerated sick leave gives access to leave acquisition.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">sick leave not covered :<\/span> non-remunerated sick leave does not give access to leave acquisition.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The impact of sick leave on payroll is often calculated in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.my-intranet.com\/en\/calendar-day\/\">calendar days<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In certain companies, allowed leave types and leave entitlement rights are not necessarily acquired by all types of employees. My Intranet HRIS handles this constraint by defining employee categories. For each category, the administrator registers in the HRMS what leave types are available and what are the entitlement rights. The software also allows different rules to be defined for each employee category for seniority leave acquisition. Lastly, each employee is allocated a category in relation to their entitlements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My Intranet HRIS has a validation workflow for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.my-intranet.com\/en\/leave-request\/\">leave requests<\/a> that can include up to 5 levels of approval. In practice, 1 or 2 levels are often sufficient. The manager receives an email each time a request is submitted, which allows him to respond to it while taking into account <a href=\"https:\/\/www.my-intranet.com\/en\/deadline-to-accept-leave-request\/\">the legal deadlines for accepting or refusing leave<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A carry-over system allows the transfer of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.my-intranet.com\/en\/unused-paid-leave\/\">unused paid leave<\/a> to the next period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This structure is particularly useful for paid leave and seniority leave.
